However, as a suggestion, we will share an optional pre-detox program. The goal is to be free of extra stimulants (unless you are on medication). We want to listen to our bodies and to know when we are tired so we may be more gentle and give ourselves the care we need.

  • Since I was a kid, my birthday (late September – hence the timing) was a very important day. I use it as a time to consider where I am in my life and who the important people are I would like to thank and celebrate being alive with.

This gathering has been in the works for five years – since covid and my time living abroad, I have been somewhat of a hermit, being a mom, going through a massive amount of transformation, and did not have the capacity to be there for others, especially my friends. Everyone has been incredibly supportive and understanding, which moves me even as I reflect on it now.

And as I plan this event, I feel my heart and ability to care grow. It’s this idea of caring or service, really caring for myself in the end, because I get so much out of it, and I’ve forgotten about it being burdened by duty and putting my family first.

I miss being with friends, and I imagine how wonderful it will be to practice together and be in another’s company.

The format is also very open, in the hope that it will naturally evolve into something greater than anything I can imagine.
